How we test product recommendation quiz builders

Every comparison separates observed product behavior from claims verified in current vendor documentation.

The same two briefs for every tool

We use an ecommerce finder and a service or B2B plan matcher. The ecommerce brief contains 24 skincare SKUs with attributes for skin type, sensitivity, concern, fragrance, price, compatibility, inventory and market. The target result is a three-product routine with a short explanation for every recommended item.

The second brief contains four software plans. Inputs include team size, required integrations, support level, security requirements, response volume, budget and purchase urgency. The output must choose a plan, explain the choice, retain the buyer's context and provide a suitable next step.

Evidence labels

Hands-on tested

This label is used only when we interact with the product surface stated in the review. A public shopper journey is labeled as such. A guided builder tour is not treated as account access. We record the date, surface and scenario tested.

Documentation verified

This label means the feature, limit or price was checked against an official product page, official help page or first-party marketplace listing. We do not turn a documentation check into a first-person product claim.

Current test record

Rechecks

Dates are reviewed monthly. Pricing and plan limits are re-verified at least quarterly, and sooner when a vendor announces a pricing or packaging change. Material changes are recorded in the visible change log.
